Being an assassin is hard work: killing for a living and always being under constant threat of assassination yourself is a daunting way to live life. I have always stated that the major difference between Altair and Ezio is their approach to the way they lived as assassins: the first was stealthier and more cerebral while the later was more cocksure and physical. The protagonist of Assassin’s Creed III seems to have learned a little something from both great assassins.
PAX East 2012 is over and while I am still upset that I didn’t get to go myself (stupid ‘responsibilities’), the big AC news was a playable demo that explored this delicate balance between stealth and strength:
■While cities and stronghold were sites for assassinations in the Altair/Ezio games, battlefields will have them now as well
■Templars exist on both sides of the war: Conner will have to navigate between both sides to take out his targets
■Stealth will play a more prominent role in the game due to the stronger weaponry of the enemy
■In situations where stealth is not an option, assassination through constant motion is key: Kill and move at the same time
Could Conner be the ultimate assassin? If he is a reasonable mix between Altair and Ezio, there is a very good chance that he could be…
